How the centre number is derived
First come the four corners: day, month, digit sum of the year, and karma = reduce(day + month + year). The centre is the sum of all four:
centre = reduce(day + month + year + karma)
Reducing means: while the number is above 22, add its digits. Twenty-two, because there are 22 major arcana.
Worked example
For 17.05.1993: day 17, month 5, year 1+9+9+3 = 22, karma reduce(17+5+22) = reduce(44) = 8. Centre: reduce(17+5+22+8) = reduce(52) = 7.
The calculator returns the same value — check it on your own date.
What the centre means
The centre is described as the comfort zone: the state a person returns to once they stop trying. Nothing in it is best or worst — it is simply habitual. That is what makes the centre hardest to see in yourself: what you do by default never looks like a choice.
The meaning depends on which arcana lands there. Each one is covered on the 22 arcana page.
What the centre does not mean
The centre is not a master number and not a verdict. It is one position out of ten, and reading it apart from the rest is pointless: the same centre works differently for two people whose corners differ.
A reading in Luna voice
The numbers are the same for everyone. What they mean for you personally is what Luna reads out in the app, in plain words.
