Compatibility by date of birth

Destiny matrix compatibility is calculated from two birth dates rather than from zodiac signs: the dates build a shared matrix for the couple, and the matrix yields three arcana. They describe what draws you together, how you share everyday life and what your agreement rests on.

How this differs from zodiac compatibility

There are twelve signs, so sign compatibility has only 144 combinations: every Aries gets the same answer about every Libra. The matrix works with the full date, so two people born under the same sign in different years produce different arcana for their couple.

That does not make astrology “worse” — it answers a different question, about temperament and how a person is built. The couple matrix answers a narrower one: what happens between these two specifically.

How it is calculated

First each person gets their own destiny matrix from their day, month and year of birth. Then the two matrices are merged into a shared matrix of the couple: matching positions are added together and reduced to the range 1–22, one value per Major Arcana.

Four lines are taken from that shared matrix — Sky, Earth and the paternal and maternal family lines — and they produce the three arcana of the couple. The formula is symmetric: the order of the dates does not change anything, swapping the people gives the same numbers.

A worked example

The dates 17.05.1993 and 24.12.1992 give 22 / 8 / 3: Relationship 22 (The Fool), Merging 8 (Justice), Harmony 3 (The Empress).

Read together: the couple is drawn to novelty and freedom and finds it easy to change plans on a whim; in daily life honesty and an equal contribution matter; and the agreement rests on care and on building something together.

What to do with difficult arcana

There are no “bad” numbers for a couple — there are themes that will have to be talked through. A heavy arcana in the merging position is not a verdict but a place where you will need more explicit agreements than other people: about money, say, or about who leads in what.

That is why we never say “you are incompatible”. The calculation shows where a couple has ease and where it has a growth point; the decision always belongs to the people, not to the numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Is a birth time needed for compatibility?

No. Matrix compatibility uses only the two dates of birth. Birth time belongs to the natal chart, which is a separate system.

Does the order of the dates change the result?

No. The formula is symmetric: swapping the two people leaves the arcana of the couple unchanged. It can be checked directly — the result stays the same.

Can I check compatibility with an ex or a friend?

Yes. The calculation does not ask what kind of relationship it is: it works with two dates. People use it for friendships and business partners too, reading the result in that key.

What if arcana 13 or 15 comes up?

Thirteen speaks of renewal: the couple will have to let go of what no longer works. Fifteen speaks of strong attraction and attachment, of a bond that binds tightly and asks for honesty. Both are topics for a conversation, not reasons to part.

Is this an accurate prediction of a relationship?

No. It is a way to see the themes of a couple from the outside and a reason to discuss them. Relationships are built by people; the calculation only names what is worth talking about.
