What sits in your house 7
Your data carries over - Luna reads the chart aloud
A house is a stage. Who plays on it and what comes of it in your case is what Luna reads from the whole chart, by voice and without jargon.
Read my chartThis is an angle of the chart
The cusp of the seventh house is the descendant, opposite the ascendant: what a person looks for in another.
The 7th house in the middle of a real relationship
Who takes the bins out is a seventh house question, and so is the contract you signed with a builder - partnership is not only romance. Splitting a bill. Choosing where to go in August. Who says sorry first, and how long that takes. And the recognisable type of person who keeps ending up next to you, decade after decade.
What people misread about the 7th house
Uxor - wife - is what the old tables wrote over the seventh, and four centuries later people still arrive expecting a portrait: an age, a profession, a country. The mechanism does not do portraits. It shows what you go looking for in somebody else and which part of your own job you quietly hand across, which is why the same kind of person keeps appearing until the handover changes rather than until the taste does. A hard planet here is not a bad marriage either. Read it as the sector where agreements have to be made explicit - the couple who write down who does what are not being unromantic, they are running a seventh house that works.
Planets in the 7th, and a 7th house standing empty
People arrive frightened that an empty seventh means nobody is coming. It does not mean that. What the house measures is how loudly partnership plays in the story, not whether the story has one at all. Crowded, and the big decisions get made out loud with somebody else in the room from the first draft onwards. Empty, and the same decisions get made first and shared over dinner afterwards.
How it differs from the 1st house
Lean too far into the seventh for a year and people stop being able to name a single film you like - that is not devotion, it is a first house going unused, and it comes back later as a bad mood nobody can trace to a source. The tilt the other way is just as recognisable: a marriage conducted as a monologue with an unusually patient audience on the receiving end. Both ends want a turn, and they get difficult when they do not get one.
Why the 7th house can be twice the size of another
Houses are not 30° slices: Placidus cuts them by how long the sky takes to rise, so they stretch the further from the equator you were born. Sampled every four minutes across a day at the latitude of London, the 7th house came out anywhere between 15.7° – 60.6°.
That is the widest swing any house gets, because the 7th sits on or beside the horizon axis, and the angle at which the ecliptic crosses the horizon changes hour by hour. A big 7th house does not mean the subject matters more — it means the sky was rising slowly at your birth hour, and it is why a planet near this cusp can change houses if your birth time is off by half an hour. The houses page has the full latitude table, including what happens above the Arctic Circle.

Questions about the 7th house
What does the 7th house rule, in one line?
Marriage and close partnerships. Everything above unpacks that: what it looks like on an ordinary day, what gets misread about it, and what changes when planets land in it. If you want the twelve side by side, they are on the houses page.
Calculating the points is astronomy; interpreting them is a symbolic system for self-reflection, not science.
Houses work together
Luna reads the 7th house together with Venus and Mars, so “who do I keep choosing” gets an answer with reasons instead of a type.
