Where Pluto sits in your chart
Your data carries over - Luna reads the chart aloud
A position is an address, not a story. What it means in your case, together with the rest of the chart, is what Luna reads: a full reading by voice, in plain words.
Read my chartPluto on an ordinary day
The record is short and you already know it: the people you stopped speaking to, and the reason you have never explained to anybody. That is Pluto working, and it is not drama - it is a refusal to keep something running on a version of the truth that has expired. The same planet turns up as privacy, which is not secrecy: a firm sense of which facts are yours to hand over, and a long memory for anybody who once took one without asking.
Pluto in a sign can cover 27 years - that is a generation
Twelve to twenty years in a single sign. This is the slowest layer in the chart and the least personal one. What it marks is the subject a generation dragged into daylight and refused to whisper about any longer. Yours is somewhere inside whatever your parents found impossible to discuss at the table.

goes all the way in, because half-measures are not on offer
- ♐︎Sagittarius
takes the theme further than anyone asked it to go

gives the theme a timeline and then outlasts it
- ♒︎Aquarius

Pluto’s stay in a sign runs from twelve years to twenty-seven
Pluto averages 18.9 years per sign, and because its orbit is the most lopsided of the ten the actual stays vary wildly - the longest unbroken one in our two-century window ran 27.3 years. It is retrograde 44.1% of the time, the highest figure in the chart. All of which means a Pluto sign is a piece of history rather than a piece of you: it says which subject a generation was forced to be honest about. Yours shows up in the house, and in the aspects.
Pluto by house: the area that keeps rebuilding itself
Pluto does not renovate an area of life; it takes the wall down. In the ninth house that reads as beliefs held with total conviction at twenty-five and quietly dismantled later, without a scene. What comes back is usually smaller and much harder to argue with.

What gets misread about Pluto
Every English keyword for Pluto is derived from its name rather than from anything anybody observed. It was found in 1930 and named after the god of the underworld - the suggestion came from an eleven-year-old in Oxford - and the descriptions have been reverse-engineered from that word ever since: death, obsession, the underworld, power. In print it therefore sounds far heavier than it behaves. Nothing in the placement is apocalyptic. What English never troubled to find a word for is the ordinary version, which is the whole of it: letting something finish and still being recognisably yourself on the far side of it. The second misreading comes from the scale of those captions. People go hunting for Pluto in catastrophes and miss it completely in the two-year withdrawal from something that had stopped being true, which is where it does nearly all of its work.
Pluto and Mars: where the line runs
Mars finishes and there is a result you could photograph. Pluto finishes and there is a different person, with no route back to the previous one and, oddly, no wish for it either. Which is why Mars gets talked about while it is happening and Pluto only gets recognised years later, usually by someone who has not seen you since.
When Pluto is working at full strength
Pluto is at full strength inside an ending you agreed to. What it needs is permission to finish things properly - to say a thing is over rather than let it decay quietly. Given that, it is the most durable resource in a chart: the capacity to lose an arrangement without losing yourself. Denied it, the same intensity goes into keeping something alive long past the point where anybody is enjoying it.

Questions about Pluto
What is Pluto in charge of in a natal chart?
Depth and renewal. Pluto is what a person can put down once it has finished, and who is left standing afterwards. It describes stamina rather than events, and it never comes with dates attached.
Calculating the positions is astronomy; interpreting them is a symbolic system for self-reflection, not science.
One planet is part of the picture
Luna reads Pluto as stamina rather than doom: which area keeps rebuilding itself, and what has already survived one rebuild. Real ephemerides, no fatalism.
