Where Venus sits in your chart
Your data carries over - Luna reads the chart aloud
A position is an address, not a story. What it means in your case, together with the rest of the chart, is what Luna reads: a full reading by voice, in plain words.
Read my chartVenus on an ordinary day
The record is what has survived your last three moves without earning its place. Not the tools and not the paperwork - the shirt that has been mended twice, the book you will never open again, the lamp that fits nowhere. Nothing on that list is there for a reason you would defend out loud, which is precisely what makes it evidence. The second record takes ten minutes to assemble and is the less comfortable of the two: the unhurried hours of the last month, the ones nobody was owed. Who got them, and what they went on. Venus is not the thing a person says they love. It is what has been quietly receiving their unpaid attention for years, usually without ever being noticed.
Venus in Taurus, Venus in Capricorn: the sign as a love language
Ask what somebody finds tacky and you learn more than by asking what they find beautiful. Gold taps and a proposal on a stadium screen will make one person wince and another cry, and which is which is never random - the Venus sign wrote that list years ago.

Venus keeps within 47.1° of the Sun, and that limits what it can do
Venus is the other planet on a short leash: it never appears more than 47.1° from the Sun, so it lands in your Sun sign or within two signs of it, and it averages 30.4 days per sign. Its retrograde is rare and dramatic - only 7.2% of the time, once every nineteen months - and when it happens in one sign it can stay there for 126 days. People born inside a Venus retrograde share something genuinely uncommon, and it reads as taste that took its own route rather than the popular one.
Venus by house: where the nice things in life turn up
You can usually spot it in what somebody spends money on when nobody is watching. Venus in the fifth goes on tickets, paint, a course in something useless and lovely. Venus in the second goes on one good coat that lasts eleven years - the same appetite for beauty, kept in a different room of the chart.

What gets misread about Venus
Venus is one of the two planets the English tradition labelled benefic, and benefic became, in practice, the nice one - which is why almost nobody opens this part of a chart expecting to find work in it. The label also narrowed. Renaissance handbooks had Venus over agreements, ornament, negotiation and pleasure; a century of English horoscope writing shrank all of that down to romance, plus beauty of the cosmetic kind. What survives underneath is the act of valuing - deciding what a thing is worth and then behaving as though that were true. It is why two people on identical salaries can disagree completely about what counts as extravagant, and why the argument is never settled by numbers. A benefic in the old sense meant something that goes easily, not something that asks nothing of you, and the part of Venus that asks is the part where your own valuation has to survive contact with somebody else’s.
Venus and Mars: where the line runs
Ask what happens the morning after the thing is won. Mars was built for the chase and goes strangely flat once there is nothing left to chase. Venus never cared about the chase and is entirely occupied with whether Saturday was any good. Outside romance it is the same split - one of them puts your hand up for the job, the other works out whether the job is worth having.
When Venus is working at full strength
Venus grows on being pleased on purpose. Most people can list what they are supposed to enjoy and go blank on what they actually do, so the exercise is small and specific: one hour a week arranged entirely around your own preference, nobody consulted, nothing useful produced. The second half is being seen liking it - saying out loud that you love something slightly embarrassing, without the joke that protects you.

Questions about Venus
What is Venus in charge of in a natal chart?
Worth, and what follows from it. Venus rules taste, affection and the care a person gives something once it is actually theirs, and it sets the private line past which a price stops feeling reasonable.
Calculating the positions is astronomy; interpreting them is a symbolic system for self-reflection, not science.
One planet is part of the picture
Luna puts Venus beside Mars and the seventh house, which is where taste stops being an opinion and starts being a pattern in who you keep choosing.
